All categories will get three years relaxation in age limit in constable recruitment, applications from Wednesday : CM Yogi instructions

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the Principal Secretary Home to give relaxation of three years in the age limit of candidates of all categories in the police recruitment this time.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered to give three years relaxation in the age limit to the candidates of all categories in the direct recruitment for 60,244 posts of Constable Civil Police. Taking cognizance of the demand of candidates for relaxation in age limit, the Chief Minister has instructed Principal Secretary Home Sanjay Prasad to take necessary action in this regard. Let us tell you that Union Minister Sanjeev Balyan, BJP MP Virendra Singh Mast and many MLAs and leaders of political parties had written a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for relaxation in the age limit.

The demand for relaxation in age limit for direct recruitment to 60,244 posts of constable civil police is increasing. After SP President Akhilesh Yadav and RLD President Jayant Chaudhary, now the Union Minister and on the other hand, there is information that a petition has been filed in this regard in the High Court also. Actually, there is maximum resentment regarding the age limit of general category in constable recruitment. The age limit for general category candidates has been fixed at 18 to 22 years by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board. The youth who want to join the police argue that after five years of 2018, about 60 thousand posts are going to be filled. Due to the delay of five years in recruitment, many youth have crossed the age limit, due to which they will not get a chance to join the police. At the same time, candidates of other categories falling under the scope of reservation are getting relaxation of five years in the age limit. On the other hand, the Recruitment Board has completed preparations for the online application starting from Wednesday. It is expected that the maximum number of applications will be received on the first day.

A hurdle is also emerging in conducting the written examination for constable recruitment. In fact, the recruitment board has proposed the date of February 11 for the written examination and has asked the DMs and SPs of all the districts to make preparations. On the other hand, on 11th February itself, examination is being conducted by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission for recruitment to the posts of Review Officer and Assistant Review Officer. Around 25 lakh candidates are expected to appear in constable recruitment, while 10 lakh candidates are expected to appear in the commission's examination. In these circumstances, conducting both the examinations simultaneously can become a challenge for the administration. Especially due to lakhs of candidates going to other districts for the examination, there can be a significant impact on the transport services.
